Me. Recently.

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

- I got a new haircut last tuesday. I told the hairstylist i wanted a certain hairdo, but he didnt follow what i told him. anyway, im quite satisfied naman with what he did with my hair. but my dormmates say i look like my roommate, kuya alan, because of my hairstyle. i dunno. siguro nga.
- speaking of roommates, i had this kwentuhan spree with my roommates last night. we were telling stories to each other until 3 in the morning. goodness. and the stories were just freakin non-sense stuff, ranging from pokemons to maskman. geez. but it was a fun thing. it was certainly a new experience to have all four of us speaking up. it was a rare opportunity you know.
- one thing leads to another, they say. because of the kwentuhan galore we had last night, i woke up sooooo late for my first class today. it was an 8:30 to 10 class, and i woke up at about 9:30. damn it. but the funny thing about this is, i still went to classes. Haha. it was a new experience going to classes just to catch its last few minutes. actually, bawal na un according to university rules. but our professor in that class is so kind. she even let me sign on the attendance sheet. lusot. but that’s the last time ill do that. swear. (although fun experience sya. haha.)
- also today, my org, UP-MCO, organized this alternative classroom learning experience (acle) on an i-witness docu, "lukayo". it was so much a success. we had a pretty good number of people who attended, the program went fine, and to top it all, we had big time speakers. there was howie severino, the person who did the docu himself, our former dean, dr. tiongson, and a national artist for dance, sir ramon obusan. I was really starstruck when i had the chance to get really near sir howie and sir obusan. waaaaaah. haha. i suddenly became a howie severino fan. sir, you became one of the reasons why i still and will continue to stay dedicated to my chosen craft: journalism. you really inspired me. naks.
- may bagong batch ng apps ang org namin. they name themselves "bennu". it’s  egyptian daw for phoenix. they just had their medyo sablay na batch proj and pres kahapon. i think they’re a pretty nice batch naman, except for some people i dont necessarily like. I like steph, barry and meg most. i promise i wont give them a hard time sa kanilang  final interview. lagot sa akin yung isa sa kanila. whahaha.
- i suddenly find a classmate and a person close to me really attractive.  hmmm.  change of heart, they say.
- anyway, un lang. hi to patty. thanks for dropping by my blog. yge.

The Haunting: Paris Hilton Edition

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

I have been recently freaked out by the fact that Paris Hilton is all over my world.  For two days now, Paris Hilton has been haunting me in more ways than I could ever imagine.

It started the other day. I was browsing through the pages of The Philippine Star (which I habitually do, every Tuesdays and Fridays while waiting for my Journ class) in the CMC library, when I came across this news item telling that Paris Hilton vowed to be celibate for a year. She said she won’t have sex with anyone, just kiss and nothing more. Well, I’m betting she would eventually break the vow. She’s just too (insert word here) to suppress her heat from coming off. I dunno. It’s just my opinion.

The Paris haunting came to its second stage when I was in the MassComm canteen. I was about to buy some drinks when her song "Stars are Blind" played. It kinda put me and my orgmate, Danna, in somewhat a social climbing mood. We decided to use a straw to drink from my C2 bottle. Yeah. Feeling sosyal and all.

I decided to go back to the dorm after some time. I went to my room and decided to browse through a back issue of FHM I got hold of free, courtesy of Rothi (thanks, by the way). Not that she’s not supposed to be there, but I was taken aback seeing another aparisyon of Paris Hilton in that men’s mag. There was an article about spending a trillion pesos on all kinds of stuff. It says that it would take Php90,240,900 to clone the Hilton hotel heiress. That’s a lot to pay for lust (if you want to do your own version of the video with your own Paris).

Today, just when I thought I could get rid of Paris, I was haunted even more. I turned the TV on and surprise, surprise: Paris Hilton was MTV’s Moto Artist of the Month (Im not sure if that’s the exact title). Anyway, the show devoted a particular segment, with lots of airtime, for the gal. It showed the MTV for her single, discussed facts about her and other what-not.

Finally, when I rode an FX on my way back to UP, Paris’ song was on the airwaves. Damn. That was the last song I wanted to hear that time. I then whispered to myself, "YOU WIN, PARIS. YOU WIN (sounds like that line from Pamie’s Jollibee blog). What followed were minutes of singing along to the freakin song.

I know. Paris Hilton is hot. But i’ve just grown sick of her. You win Paris. You win.

SOME NOT SO RELATED STUFF:

- I completely feel sad for Kral’s lost cellphone. Kelangan na siguro ng legislation against cellphone thieves.

- Check this blogspot out, recommended by Bikoy, and which, I now recommend, coz I am guilty of some of the things stated here: http://jaypeeonline.net/?p=93.

Un lang.

1. a (1) : having or being motion in a direction contrary to that of the general motion of similar bodies and especially east to west among the stars <Saturn is retrograde for another week> <the retrograde motion of Mercury>

–> My Communications 100 professor, Prof. Jazmines, shared to us this "Mercury retrograde" thing last, last meeting. Mercury, she said, seemed to be moving backwards relative to the Earth the past few weeks, and this phenomenon causes interruptions in communication stuff here on earth. It’s kinda bizarre hearing that, since I dunno how the hell the planet Mercury is related to communications. She just said that Mercury was "the patron saint of communicators" here on Earth. (If you want more info, check out http://www.astrologycom.com/mercret.html. I won’t go explaining this astronomical thing, for God’s sake.)

Anyhoo, I was skeptical when she finished explaining the thing. However, I had a change of heart when I experienced the effects of Mercury retrograde myself. One night last week, Karl, Inang Mother and I had this sort of unlimited texting thing. At some point, I was to send Mother my comments on the remix version of "The Day You Said Goodnight". But the darn message won’t send. I always got a "Message not sent this time". Due to this, I decided to turn to freakin cellphone off, and tried resending the message. Thank God it was sent this time. I didn’t expect what happened next. Mother texted me: "Nakakalorka (that’s nakakaloka, actually. S/he is making it more gay. Hehe). Ilang beses (I am unsure about the number, but s/he included it in herm message) ko na-receive ang message mo." To make the long story short, the messages I thought were not sent were actually received by Mother, courtesy of Mercury retrograde.

The same thing happened Monday morning, when I texted my mom upon arriving at UP. I almost lost my temper while sending the message, since I consistently received the same "Message not sent this time" response. I got a different response after some attempts. However, the response pissed me off more. It said "Check Operator Services". Damn it. All the messages were sent, and my prepaid load was used up, courtesy again, to Mercury retrograde. Hell that Mercury retrograde.

Now, I’m a believer of the freakin’ Mercury retrograde. I learned the hard way though. Darn it.

2 : tending toward or resulting in a worse or previous state

–> My eating habits are not getting better the past few days. I skipped breakfast and lunch today, and all three meals yesterday. Just imagine how my digestive system would complain if my organs could only speak. Well, my poor eating habits are due to my occasional laziness, poor time management and sheer love of sleeping, all in all. Sometimes, I just don’t feel like walking to a nearby food stall to eat. At times still, I just don’t have time to eat. Most of the time though, I prefer sleeping over eating. Darn. I should fix my life. Health is wealth, as the good old saying goes.

I made up for the missed meals during our org night yesterday though (I ate two big fried chicken pieces, a slice of pizza and some mac). I had one helluva time with my fellow MCOers last night. We had this cross-dressing contest, and Bikoy won the thing (congrats. go MPRT!). I also had fun with my fellow MPRT members doing our thing with the Magic Sing. Plus, I enjoyed taking pictures with the oh-so-burgis na digicam. Ang saya. I felt like a film major. Hehe. Anyhoo, ang saya talaga sa org.

Ayun. Since minamadali na naman ako ng kapatid ko, hanggang dito na lamang. Yes. I’ve been retrograded this past few days. Darn it.
